Garden
Volunteers and staff contribute to the planting, care and harvest of pesticide-free produce that is seasonably available on a U-Pick basis at the Farm. Last year’s crop included garlic, peas, lettuce, herbs, broccoli, cabbage, tomato, several varieties of squash, Swiss chard, pumpkins and more!
Spring is quickly approaching and we have a great opportunity coming up to help us in the (soon to be certified) organic vegetable garden, here at the Farm at Water’s Edge located at the PNW Salmon Center, in Belfair. We will need assistance with getting the garden ready for planting vegetable seeds so we can have another full and productive U-pick season.
We have set aside specific “garden” days where volunteers can come by and help. Our first official garden day in 2012 was on Friday, March 9th, from 9:00AM-12:00PM. The remainder of the garden days and times after March 9th will be on Wednesday’s from 10AM-12PM and Friday’s from 9AM-12PM.
If you can come join us in the garden on Wednesdays and/or Friday’s give me a call mendy@hcseg.org or email. If you have an unexpected time open on those days and times feel free to stop by.
For those of you who are Mason County Master Gardeners, the Farm at Water’s Edge is an approved WSU MG activity. So, keep track of the hours that you spend here for credit toward your yearly requirements.
The Farm at Water’s Edge is located at the Pacific Northwest Salmon Center in Belfair. Our address is 600 Roessel Road, Belfair.
