Dr. Al Adams

Dr. Al Adams is a retired dentist and a founding member of the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancment Group and the Pacific Northwest Salmon Center.  Having been a HCSEG board member since 1995, Al served as the HCSEG Executive Director for four years and is currently the Vice President of Pacific Northwest Salmon Center.    Al  currently serves on the education and habitat committees, and is the Chair of the PNWSC Wild Salmon Hall of Fame selection committee.  In addition, Al has been active on the WDFW Regional Salmon Enhancement Advisory Board, the Lower Hood Canal Watershed Planning Commission and has been recognized for his volunteer efforts by the Hood Canal Coordinating Council, WA State Ecological Committe and the WA Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Al is also a gifted artist whose carvings in ancient cedar include Salmon, totem poles, masks, ladies, birds and a canoe.  His work “The Dance” is awarded to our Wild Salmon Hall of winners and Al has made substantial donations of his art for salmon restoration and recovery efforts over the last decade.
