Renee is the manager of the Hood Canal Dissolved Oxygen “Citizens’ Monitoring Program”, a team of volunteers and interns who monitor the marine waters of Hood Canal on a weekly basis throughout the year (a partnership with the Hood Canal Dissolved Oxygen Program). She coordinates and trains samplers to collect water quality data which is then compiled and shared with the University of Washington and other partners. Renee processes and manages the CTD data and also manages the HCSEG laboratory and analyzes weekly dissolved oxygen samples. Other projects have included water quality sampling efforts for the Lower Union River Restoration Study and the Mission Creeks Water Quality Assessment. Renee also works as a project manager on the Big Beef Creek Restoration Project.  In addition, Renee assists with education and outreach opportunities teaching about water quality, salmon-related issues, and nature awareness skills.  She is co-director of the Adventure Salmon Camps each summer.  Renee holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Geosciences and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from Pacific Lutheran University
