2010 Completed Projects

The primary objective was to conduct a reach assessment in the lower 4.25 miles of mainstem of the Tahuya River that would provide information necessary to identify sites for large woody debris restoration as a corrective action for addressing habitat limiting factors that have been identified for the recently re-introduced subpopulation of Hood Canal summer chum salmon.

This project continues knotweed control efforts along the Union River and Dewatto River, and funds the first year of assessment and control efforts in the Tahuya River.  This grant was started in December 2009 and will run through the end of December 2011.

The goal of the project was to develop the final design, budgets, and permits to be ready for construction in 2012.

The goal of the project was to restore native riparian vegetation along salmon bearing streams or in appropriate Marine Riparian Areas.  The objective of the project was to restore natural streamside vegetation, improve stream temperature, reduce erosion, filtration and recruit large woody debris.

The goal of the project was to restore estuarine and nearshore conditions and processes in the marine environment. The objective of the project was to restore shoreline habitat diversity and function by removing the levee and opening up 13 acres for salt marsh production.

This project improved access to an additional 1.8 acres of salt marsh for migrating juvenile salmonid access by increasing the channel into the restored salt marsh and adding LWD to provide cover for juvenile salmonids.

The goal of the project is to increase/improve information to help select projects that have a high certainty and benefit. The objective of the project is to determine feasibility of creating or reconnecting off-channel habitat.
